Job Description

The position of Payroll Assistant is a full time position requiring up to 10-15 hours per week and reports to the Payroll Manager. The position processes data to ensure all employees and sub-contractors are paid accurately and as scheduled. Position Responsibilities Create customer focused practices and provide excellent customer service at all times. Process all payroll information timely and accurately. Complete required reports. Assist with year-end reporting to include W2 and 1099 forms. Answer payroll related calls and questions. Process all payroll related items to include mileage and expense reimbursement. Identify and correct payroll issues. Ensure compliance as related to federal, state and local payroll related regulations, keeping abreast of changing policy as it occurs and reacting appropriately. Other duties and/or tasks may be assigned on an as needed basis. Position Requirements One year of payroll processing experience. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to meet deadlines. Acute attention to detail. Excellent MS Office skills with emphasis on Excel. Required availability including weekends and holidays. Ability to provide an acceptable background screen. Ability to pass a drug screen. Essential Job Functions Ability to sit for long periods of time. Ability to use hands and fingers to operate office equipment. Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and oral.
